Zenscapes
Zenscapes was the Photo Club's first group show in November and December of 2019.
It focuses on seeing the world with fresh eyes and a beginner’s mind, finding the unexpected designs in randomness, meaning in emptiness, and patterns in complexity. Many of the images on this website are the members' entries to the exhibit.
Photos include many of Vashon’s vistas. Facilitators of the Club are Vashon photographers Keith Prior and Wade Yip.
Keith is a long time islander and photographer besides a multi-faceted professional in administration, computers and community activism. He is frequently found on morning hikes in the Dockton Forest with his dog Cat. His tool kit includes the ubiquitous iPhone, Lumix, and Fujifilm cameras.
Wade moved to Vashon in 2018 from New York. His passion for photography is integrated with his work as a graphic designer and art director. Wade’s interests include people, places, and abstract photography. Promoting the appreciation of fine photography is now in his viewfinder. He uses a Nikon DSLR.
The Photo Club is composed of photographers of diverse experience and skill levels, and are bound with enthusiasm and eagerness to explore. We hold meetings and workshops on Wednesdays 10-11:30 at the Vashon Senior Center. We welcome new members of all ages. No membership required.
The photographers in this exhibit are Thomas Abraham, Scott Gaul, Bob Hallowell, Eliza Hitchcock, Lorra Hoffman, Rhoda Karusaitis, Will Lockwood, Peter Milovsoroff, Keith Prior, Jeanne Reynen, Sue Weston, and Wade Yip.
